Application process
At the end of each year we advertise for applications from performers for next summers’ program, with a deadline February 15th.
Applications are sent to blaakirkjan@blaakirkjan.is with a concert proposals and the performers’ CV. We also ask applicants to attach a video or sound recording with a sample of the music to the application, if possible.
The board of the concert series meets soon after the application deadline and drafts up next summer’s program. The manager than contacts the performers.
Organisation, payment and execution
We pay the performers for the concert, an amount based on how many perform. In addition a fixed sum is paid to cover travel cost within Iceland and accommodation in Seyðisfjörður. The performers make their own travel plans and book accommodation. At www.visitseydisfjordur.is you can find various information that can be helpful.
Arriving in Seyðisfjörður
The concerts are on Wednesday nights in the church of Seyðisfjörður but we ask performers, when possible, to visit the local nursing home earlier in the day with a shorter version of their program.
An assistant from the concert series will aid the performers once in Seyðisfjörður with practical things and giving information as needed. He/she will also open the church, welcome the audience, collects the entrance fee etc.
